The Loom
Handweaving Loom, Ada at work creating a weaving
The Harrisville Rug Loom was designed in consultation with a renowned rug weaver.

It is truly a pleasure to weave on this loom. The special shaft switching device simplifies the maneuvering of colour and design but the whole weaving process is still completely hand manipulated.

My loom has 4 harnesses and allows for a weaving width of 60". The loom stands about 6’ tall.

"A loom is simply a device to produce the necessary warp tension required for the easy manipulation of the warp threads and the easy beating down of the weft threads. All the complexities that have been added to the loom are to save time or effort."
